CTEK ANNOUNCES NEW MXS 5.0 BATTERY CHARGER LOADED WITH FEATURES

The CTEK MXS 5.0 offers 4.3 amp charging current as well as the company’s industry-leading eight-step battery care program. Available at the touch of a button, each stage ensures that any lead-acid battery is optimally conditioned, charged and maintained. What’s more, it can maintain a battery indefinitely, if required, without the risk of damage to the battery or delicate vehicle electronics.

The unique combination of advanced charging modes, combined with new automatic temperature compensation, means the MXS 5.0 is the fastest, most efficient and versatile consumer charger CTEK has produced to date.

Pressing the single Mode button, allows the user access to the powerful features of the MXS 5.0. The “CAR” symbol, for example, will deliver a powerful charge to car batteries and larger vehicle batteries. It will also manage AGM lead-acid batteries that are used in stop/start applications as well as leisure batteries. The stop/start functionality on many new cars puts the battery under tremendous strain, so this special AGM function can help to increase the battery life by up to three times.

Another press of the Mode button allows the user to choose “RECOND” to return the battery to its maximum energy storage capacity, even after a battery has been deeply discharged. This Reconditioning function can restore older batteries to their former glory, extending their life and keeping money in your pocket.

The “MOTORCYCLE” symbol is intended for use with smaller batteries. It delivers the same eight-step charging program to care for the battery but at a lower 0.8-amp level of charge. It is ideal for motorcycles, UTVs, jet skis, lawn tractors and more.

The MXS 5.0 has two battery analysis programs, which can quickly identify whether the battery is capable of taking and holding a charge (batteries can be revived from as low as 2-volts). The integration of an Automatic Temperature Sensor means the Battery Charger will continually adjust the charge rate depending on ambient temperature to achieve maximum charge levels.

Patented float and pulse maintenance stages ensure that once fully charged the battery can be maintained indefinitely on vehicles that are unused or stored for an extended period, without the risk of over- or under-charging. This also means the battery does not need to be disconnected while charging.
